Introduction

Mausoleums of Koguryo are tombs of the royal and the noble of the slavery state of Koguryo from 1st century BC to 7th century. There are more than 10,000 tombs classified into two groups -- the Stone Tombs and the Earth Tombs. Stone Tombs are of earlier age and larger scale. The murals excavated in the underground hall were well preserved over the years, with bright color and smooth lines. A large quantity of funerary objects has been unearthed here.
